DJ Bahler & F.L.P – XOXO (The Glitch Mob vs The Weeknd Mixtape)

DJ Bahler and F.L.P. have created a mashup unbelievable mixtape featuring the Weeknd and The Glitch Mob. The word mashup doesn’t do this collaboration justice. Abel’s unique and perfect voice with the nasty beats from Glitch Mob form a project you do not want to miss. “With You” is a personal favorite, but overall this is another great addition to the iTunes collection.

Hump day Mashups

Sound Remedy shook up the indie song “Funeral” from Band of Horses. I am a huge fan of electronic indie. It’s like a cracked out version of death cab– perfect.

Off of Wait What’s mixtape Tingo, here is a mashup of Kanye and Kennedy. This mashup is a little more alternative than what would be expected of a “Workout” mashup. I like it a lot.

Jay-Z vs. The Glitch Mob – 99 Days (Carlos Serrano Mix)

Carlos Serrano, the producer from San Diego, has been making some noise this year mixing diverse artists such as Phoenix and Kavinsky as well as Adele and Daft Punk. For his latest offering, he mashes up Glitch Mob’s “Fortune Days” with the lyrics from Jay-Z’s “99 Problems.” There has been many mashups involving “99 Problems,” but this track is up with the best. “99 Days” is a must download song.

Chill Sunday Tunes

Here are some chill tunes to get you through this week…

Following his mixtape that dropped yesterday, today Blu released – “Kiss the Sky” featuring Mela Machinko. This LA rapper is unbelievable, and his sound is very original. His step- father was a pastor, and Blu was greatly influenced by gospel and soul which really resinates in his songs. I’m a huge fan of Blu, and it’s always exciting when he has new releases. The official release of “Kiss the Sky” is May 29th, until then enjoy the leak.

Telepopmusik’s well known track “Just Breathe” was remixed by Paul Dateh. Dateh is a pretty interesting guy. He was originally a violinist, dabbling in mainly classical music. However, he decided that he wanted to expand his talents early on in his career. Dateh sings, writes, and composes– this guy is brilliant and has a very eclectic ear. His rendition of “Just Breathe” is amazing.

Jimmi Needles mashed up Gotye, Bucketheads, and Chicago to create “Street Sounds (That I Used To Know).” It has a very soulful vibe. I likey it a lot.
